President Yoweri Museveni has revealed that Uganda has gone five days without a new Ebola case, using a live national address to ban handshakes and demand strict public discipline to completely eliminate the outbreak.

The EAC Ministers of Health have formed a Regional Technical Taskforce to synchronize screening protocols at all border entry points to combat the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak. Backed by a EUR 1 million fund from Germany’s KfW, the partner states are deploying mobile laboratories to containing zones across Uganda and the DRC.

An Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft has delivered 43 tonnes of emergency medical and diagnostic kits to Entebbe Airport to bolster the Africa CDC's regional Ebola response. Handed over by High Commissioner Upender Singh Rawat, the supplies will be forwarded via Uganda's NMS to support the active Bundibugyo Ebola virus intervention in the DRC.

President Yoweri Museveni will deliver his first State of the Nation Address of the new term at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds today at 2:00 p.m. Attendance remains strictly restricted to lawmakers and key staff due to preventive Ebola health protocols, with the address broadcasting live across television, radio, and digital media.

Regional health ministers have adopted an urgent 11-point joint action plan at Munyonyo to contain the Ebola outbreak. The cross-border intervention follows an announcement by the Ministry of Health confirming that Uganda's total cases have risen to five, including a local health worker and a driver.
